UnitedWay-Northern Ozaukee has an upcoming volunteer opportunity for its first laptop distribution event, targeting over 300 recipients in the Ozaukee County area with free laptops. This is a technology equity initiative that provides laptops to individuals who would otherwise be unable to afford a computer.
As a Navigator, you will be responsible for performing basic computer setup tasks. You don’t need any special technical certification for this; just a comfort level in performing basic setup tasks, such as setting up logins, browser and email configurations, and installing a few apps like antivirus software. You will be provided instructions on all this at the event. You’ll likely be working with very novice users, so patient communication will help serve our recipients.
