Mequon Nature Preserve is partnering with Waste Management, Inc., Pheasants Forever, and Eco-Resource Consulting (ERC), to offer a Volunteer Tree and Shrub Planting Event to be held at Waste Management's land restoration and conservation education site; The Hidden Springs Wetland Complex, located in Germantown, Wisconsin. This event will take place on Saturday, May 2nd from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch and beverages will be provided. The site is located on the west side of Wausaukee Road approximately halfway between County Line Road and Donges Bay Road.
We are inviting community members of all ages to participate in this event. The goal of the event is to plant and water-in 100 native trees and shrubs into an area that was previously dominated by invasive species. This is an ideal event for Scout troops and other youth clubs/groups and community organizations to learn techniques for preparing, installing, and maintaining native tree and shrub plantings.
