Ozaukee County Jail Literacy Program

  • Education

Who We Are

The Program is available to inmates over the age of 18, who do not have their high school diplomas, are currently in the Ozaukee County Jail (Port Washington, WI) and who have demonstrated an interest and dedication to furthering their education and self-improvement. While the Program serves approximately 50-60 inmates each year, there are never more than 10 students in the classroom at any one time. This allows two instructors to provide one-on-one specialized instruction/attention to each student during each class/session. Students attend a total of 12 hours of classroom instruction each week (over the course of three days).

What We Do

The Ozaukee County Jail Literacy Program, Inc. (also known as "OCJLP" or the "Program") provides educational opportunities to incarcerated adults through compassionate delivery of services and community support in a secular, non-discriminatory educational environment.
