Who We Are

We promote independent living for people with disabilities.  Whether its skill building classes, employment, finding accessible housing, recreation opportunities, accessible transportation, care giving or simply helping you to make your home or business accessible, we are your first resource.

Can’t find what you are looking for? IndependenceFirst staff also helps over 6,100 people each year in our information and referral service alone, answering calls and emails regarding community resources on disability.  

What We Do

Purpose: IndependenceFirst is a non-profit agency directed by & for the benefit of persons with disabilities, primarily serving the four county metro Milwaukee area. Our mission is to effectively facilitate empowerment through:-Education, Advocacy, Independent Living services, & Coalition building. We promote diversity & multicultural participation in our operation & services.
