Volunteer Opportunities From: Volunteer Ozaukee

Volunteer: Become a tutor to adult learners

The Adult Literacy Center relies upon dedicated, trained volunteers to provide one-on-one tutoring to students. It is the tutors who make a life-changing impact in the lives of our students.

 As a tutor, you will:

Provide one-on-one instruction

Serve both native and non-native speakers

Assist in English speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension

Support in other life skills

Make a commitment of two to three hours per week.

Tutors must attend a training session before being paired with a student. Staff will reach out to you with the next applicable training date you can attend. Students and tutors may work together anywhere from a few months to a few years and choose to meet at the ALC Office, various libraries, cafes, or even outside. Often, lasting bonds and friendships develop. We would be happy to have you in our volunteer team!
