Who We Are
While Ozaukee County is one of the wealthier counties in Wisconsin, there are still many families living in substandard housing whose conditions are in severe need of improvement. Our shared vision is a world where everyone has a decent, affordable place to live.
Strong and Stable Homes Help Build Strong and Stable Communities
Habitat for Humanity-Ozaukee is dedicated to building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. A decent place to live and an affordable mortgage create a situation where homeowners can save more, invest in education, pursue opportunity and have more financial stability. This is good for Habitat families and good for our local economy.
What We Do
Our partnership with community churches and other faith-based groups, businesses, and compassionate citizens has made it possible for Habitat to build 12 new homes in partnership with Ozaukee County families.
In addition to building homes with families of low and modest income, we also offer home repairs to families in need of assistance, improving their homes so they can care for the elderly, handicapped, or support other needs so they maintain a dignified lifestyle.
Our non-profit is entirely volunteer based; we have no paid staff, so we rely on volunteers and the generosity of the community to help ensure everyone has a decent place to call home in Ozaukee County.
Our Volunteers Get as Good as They Give
We couldn't do what we do at Habitat for Humanity-Ozaukee without the generosity of our volunteers. Many find the opportunity to help a family realize their dream of owning a home to be a rewarding experience. From hands-on help at our work sites to joining our board or one of our many committees, there's a place for you at Habitat to share your skills and talents. You'll have the opportunity to make new friends while working alongside others in a meaningful cause. Oh, and the gratitude you'll feel from the deserving families in our community - priceless.
