Who We Are

Our mission at SJ23 is to provide a child-centered, faith-filled learning community where Catholic values are lived and taught. Our commitment to academic excellence promotes student success. Every child is nurtured, challenged, and known as an individual.

What We Do

Founded in 1853, St. John XXIII Catholic School (SJ23) fosters a spiritually rich, academically challenging, and emotionally nurturing education for students from preschool through 8th grade. Today, SJ23 provides a faith-based education option for approximately 205 students. Together, with the support of St. John XXIII Catholic Parish, our school functions as a parochial school option for students in northern Ozaukee County. SJ23’s rigorous, integrated, hands-on philosophy promotes differentiated instruction, encourages creative expression, promotes critical thinking, and provides students with the opportunity to obtain skills needed to be successful, compassionate learners for the future. In partnership with parents, our administration, faculty, and staff provide a Christ-centered environment that stresses basic academic skills and competencies, as well as the arts, music, and technology. We pride ourselves in producing graduates who are well prepared to excel in any high school they choose. Our Lower Campus serves students in preschool through 4th grades and our Upper Campus serves students in 5th through 8th grades.
