About the Volunteer Center

Volunteering is a necessary aspect of meeting the most pressing needs facing our nation: health, senior care, poverty, disasters, illiteracy, and homelessness. The Volunteer Center of Ozaukee County (VCOC), by promoting volunteerism and community activism, increases the community’s volunteer workforce and directly contributes to the productivity of nonprofit agencies who serve the community.

In 2011, over 4,200 referrals were made resulting in 2,100 people volunteering to serve in community agencies. Our goals are to:

Provide over 60 nonprofit agencies with ways to communicate their needs.
Promote over 500 volunteer opportunities to the community.
Provide over 12,000 people with the resources to learn about community needs.
Connect over 2,000 community members to nonprofit agencies.
Increase the volunteer labor pool in community agencies by over 1,200.

VCOC community impact:

Individuals are made aware of the community’s needs.
Individuals connected to a volunteer opportunity that met their needs, interests and skills.
Volunteers find value in their volunteer experience.
Partner agencies acquire the volunteer help needed to serve the community needs.
VCOC will improve the ability of nonprofit agencies to serve the community.
